Central Florida’s Junk Duck “We Don’t Duck Around!” comes from our serious and professional attitude towards junk removal, protecting the environment, and serving our community. The founder of Central Florida’s Junk Duck grew up in Orlando, FL their whole life and as a result Junk Duck has witnessed the change and growth in Orlando and the surrounding communities has experienced over the last 40 years. The Junk Duck logo is symbolic for the company because of a couple of reasons. One reason is due to the beauty and majestic nature of the duck. Seeing a duck resting peacefully in a pond encapsulates the City Beautiful and memories of Lake Eola.
Another reason for the saying “We Don’t Duck Around!” is a tribute to the founder’s mother and her work ethic she instilled. The founder’s mom worked over 40 hours a week at the Peabody Hotel consistently for over 30 years. She worked at the B Line diner starting her shift at 4 or 5 am as a line cook, making delicious breakfast for the 24-hr restaurant. For those unfamiliar with the Peabody Hotel, the hotel was notorious for having live ducks swim in the hotel’s grand fountain in the hotel’s lobby. The founder has found memories of visiting mom at work and watching the iconic ducks march from the elevators on the glamorous red carpet all the way to the lobby fountain. Rows of people would line up to watch the celebrity like ducks go to and from the grandiose fountain. The most important reason for the Duck is because the duck was the hotel’s signature cookie!
